The Boston Int’l Antiquarian Book Fair: Find your future there!

A learning experience!

A learning experience!

Once again, bibliophiles have an opportunity to be in the same room with the leading dealers who handle collectible paper when the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair opens to the public on 8 November.  During this 3 day book fair, 11/8-10, 100 dealers will be sharing their wares.  The primary goal of such events is to make immediate sales but the changing chemistry of the market is providing these grand antiquarian events another role, to encourage the emerging collecting will.  Markets change and we’re at one of those moments.

It’s the opportunities to meet new collectors that set the path to the future.  The ABAA has long encouraged the next generation’s collectors to see the field first hand.  Online you can read about material.  When you discuss it with experts, that’s often when the collecting spark ignites.

So when you join this event, if you are comfortable with what you are seeing, think about becoming a part of the history of collectible paper. And you never know whether you’ll get serious.  If you do, you’ll become part of its future.

So, think about coming to the fair. It’s one of the best ways to experience collecting.
